Puerto Del Carmen is the most popular tourist destination in Lanzarote. It offers three different areas, these are the Matagorda, Old Town and New Town which is called Avenida de Las Playas (or better known as the strip).

These 3 areas are very much different to each other but all offer a good amount of bars and restaurants and of course shopping.

Matagorda is closest to the Airport, like the other 2 areas Matagorda has a large amount of bars and restaurants to choose from including it's own centre with a very good selection of restaurants. The beaches in Matagorda are golden and very long but it can get very windy. Matagorda is also the flattest part of Puerto Del Carmen.

The Old Town has managed to keep the look and feel of a old Spanish village. The area is filled with many different bars and Restaurants located over the Old Town, many of which are hidden away and are difficult to find.

The 'Strip' (New Town) as it's more commonly known is around 6km long with an almost unlimited supply of bars, shops and restaurants for you to choose from. Puerto Del Carmen also offers an impressive shopping centre called the Biosfera which offers 4 floors of shops and bars (with a kids play area to keep them happy).

Puerto Del Carmen is the most popular tourist destination in Lanzarote, situated to the south of Lanzarote. It is attractive for many people because of the long sandy beaches, number of activities available and excellent selection of bars and restaurants. Puerto Del Carmen has a lot to offer all year round due to the warm climate of Lanzarote. Puerto Del Carmen started life as a fishing village and its picturesque harbour at the southern end of the resort is still very much in action, a lovely place to unwind over a drink and watch the fishing boats come and go. If you wander into the square nearby you will see the locals playing boules.

Puerto Del Carmen is the ideal holiday resort for the sun worshipper, with the beautiful Playa Grande beach, as for the night owl who loves dancing and eating and drinking, or the culture vulture. Suitable for couples and families Puerto Del Carmen has something to offer everyone with a wide selection of shops and shopping centres, entertainment halls, restaurants and bars.

Yo fui a lanzarote a puerto del carmen hace como 5 a￱os con las amigas de la universidad. Me encanto la zona pero en especial un camarero de la pizeria pinocchio.... Joan i never forget you!

After spent three months in lanzarote and had dinner in many restaurants i can adwise in my opinion the places where to enjoy yourselfes. i am italian and i have been working as Chef in England since 1990, so i can tell the right places in Lanzarote. there are many :Trattoria Verona, Mammacarla, Tomatissimo,Bodega, Magnolia,Pinocchio, Puerto Bahia,El marinero, domus pompei, Gigi in Arrecife, Pikada in Costa teguise, Maritoni, Casa siam are the Best place in Lanzarote, maybe Puerto Bahia and Trattoria Verona are a bit expensive but the list i did are in my personal taste. In these restaurants you can try from spanish cuisine, italian and canarias cuisine. I have to talk about Lanzarote Isle :Wonderfull

we just returned from a week of staying at the Flora hotel and we had the best week of our lives. it was amazing. if you are a young couple like we are we strongly advice you to take a trip to the main strip where all of the clubs are located. it is total madness ! it is a gorgeous place to relax and the beaches are amazing. you should definitely snorkel in the sea as there are plenty of fish close to the shore. take bread under the water as they will eat it out of your hands. Just return from PDC and as always returned to Tomatissimo this is always a favourite!! excellent value for money and freshly prepard food (can actually see chef making!!) Definately worth a visit and great relaxed and welcoming staff. Try it you won't be dissapointed.

Just returned from a week in Old Town PDC. All the restaurants along PDC are good, Mammacarlas is excellent.. Best italian restaurant ! We like to eat somewhere different each night, then return to our favourite for a final night. High quality food, with a pizza fantastic. Located nearby Beosferia center commercial in Puerto Del Carmen , this restaurant is excellent value for money.

We are just back from Lanzarote after spending a week there. We decided to try MamaCarlass after reading the reviews on internet. We weren't disappointed. Pizza and pasta fabulous this italian restaurant couldn't recommend enough.

The Tomatissismo is a fabulous restaurant in PDC. The food is freshly cooked.Us, customers, can see our meal being cooked fresh. The waitress is always so welcoming and so efficient, even when she is under pressure and so busy she is friendly and nice to everyone. We have been coming here for many years now and always enjoy our nights in Tomatissismo. A visit to Tomatissismo is a must while holidaying in PDC
