Flamingo Beach is still a building site and does not look nearly complete. However 20 minutes further down the coastal path is Playa Dorada Beach which is fabulous, white sand and a gently sloping beach.. The trip to Papagayo is well worth the time, but take provisions as there is nothing there and it is a long walk over the mountains to get there! Be prepared to be sandblasted too as it can be quite windy. As for food everywhere we ate in the area was good, but by far an away the best was La Cuadra a Tex Mex on the main road behind Playa Blanca Harbour, excellent choice and perfectly cooked.

Playa Blanca Beach is still closed due to re-construction of the break-water, see reviews on Trip Advisor for updates. By all accounts heavy machinery on the beach to complete the repair works has required the entire beach to be fenced off, there are buses to other nearby beaches.

i have been to playa blanca in 2008 & 2009 both during oct thinking about booking a third for the end of may begining of june 2010 , can anybody comment on the weather exsperienced. oh by the way the resort is excellent loads of options.

we enjoyed playa blanc so much while on holidays there two years ago ,we have bought a villa by the marine.people so friendly and resort so safe and beautiful.would recommed it for. a holiday.excellent for new years eve ,fireworks and great to be able to bring children out on that night not much at home .

Having read the comments I cant wait, it will be a special Birthday trip for my wife and 2 friends, we have never been before so I hope we are able to SCUBA dive at some point and the Volcano will be at the top of the list.

I have been going to playa blanca since I was 2.....I'm 28 now!!!!! Only missed 6 years in all that time....and I felt I'd lost me left hand...its like my second home. The beaches, clear seas, the views, the people, the food and the booze all brilliant!!!!! Its growing but glad its keeping its integrity and spirit. I LOVE the place and will be back shortly!!! :0).

Hello,We have going to Playa Blanca now for over 10 years.Often 2 or 3 times a year.
It really is the best place to holiday and come back rested.
I hope it does not get spoilt and by the way ,don't tell too many people about it!!
