Puerto Del Carmen is the most popular tourist destination in Lanzarote. It offers three different areas, these are the Matagorda, Old Town and New Town which is called Avenida de Las Playas (or better known as the strip).

These 3 areas are very much different to each other but all offer a good amount of bars and restaurants and of course shopping.

Matagorda is closest to the Airport, like the other 2 areas Matagorda has a large amount of bars and restaurants to choose from including it's own centre with a very good selection of restaurants. The beaches in Matagorda are golden and very long but it can get very windy. Matagorda is also the flattest part of Puerto Del Carmen.

The Old Town has managed to keep the look and feel of a old Spanish village. The area is filled with many different bars and Restaurants located over the Old Town, many of which are hidden away and are difficult to find.

The 'Strip' (New Town) as it's more commonly known is around 6km long with an almost unlimited supply of bars, shops and restaurants for you to choose from. Puerto Del Carmen also offers an impressive shopping centre called the Biosfera which offers 4 floors of shops and bars (with a kids play area to keep them happy).

Puerto Del Carmen is the most popular tourist destination in Lanzarote, situated to the south of Lanzarote. It is attractive for many people because of the long sandy beaches, number of activities available and excellent selection of bars and restaurants. Puerto Del Carmen is the ideal holiday resort for the sun worshipper, with the beautiful Playa Grande beach, as for the night owl who loves dancing and eating and drinking, or the culture vulture. I have been in Lanzarote for a week and had a dinner in Mammacarlas.This restaurant has a very good atmosphere, professional waiters and a very good chef. The rigatoni with meatballs and pizza are to die for! I was in Italy. I dont know how they got the bread to taste like it was from Italy, in MammaCarlas we ate the authentic Italian food.. Everyone at our table were very happy and satisfied. In Pdc this restaurant is one of the best.

Roma in PDC.... One of the best meals of my holiday apart from a little wait for the food. But friendly staff. ALSO The American Indian Cafe...... Amazing food, great value as the portions are huge.... 2 plates of natchos did all six of us with loads spare. Also at 10pm live music from The Question Band, They are amazing. Ad you can go up and talk to the band in intervals and they are sooo friendly as are the staff at the AIC.

I agree with ALAN McLEAN Trattoria Verona and MammaCarla are the best italian resstaurant in Pdc, i went last month in MammaCarla, the food was delicious,same thing in Trattoria Verona. These restaurants have the authentic italian food.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN TO LANZAROTE EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST 9 YEARS, WE HAVE SEEN MANY CHANGES, HOWEVER BY FAR THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN P.D.C. IS "ANTICA TRATTORIA". IF YOU DO NOT BOOK IN ADVANCE, YOU JOIN THE QUEUE, WHICH ON SOME NIGHTS IS 10 TO 15 DEEP. THE CHEF AND HIS BRIGADE ARE EXCELENT AND OF COURSE THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND MOST PROFESSIONAL, AS FOR THE MENU AND WINE LIST, THEY ARE FIRST CLASS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO OUR NEXT VISIT IN OCTOBER 2010.

This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime holiday. however when we arrived it was with deep dismay that we found the amount of building work distasteful, the cement mixers started at 6am, there was copious amounts of crack on display (builders bum) this led to a fallout of myself and my girlfriend she left me to be with Claudio,so i can highly recommend this resort if you want a divorce otherwise food good, weather nice enjoy !

i have been many times in Lanzarote, never in Mammacarlas. Last night was only my first time dining in a italian restaurant , I am an expert on the cuisine . That being said, I thought this place was fantastic! The food was marvelous with the best presentation, the atmosphere lovely, the service very attentive.. the pizza is fantastic, i ate a great Margherita, Chef and waiters are very good.

Ate twice in MamaCarla in July . Service is excellent , superb wine list, . Great menu with daily specials but food is superb, rigatoni with mushroom, and italian starter, second day i had a fantastic pizza. The restaurant is in old town but is easy to park the car in biosfera center. This is one of the best Restaurants on the Island and well worth a visit. Another good place near Mamacarlas is Magnolia they have a special menu, at good price.

Have just returned from a month Lanzarote and visited great part of isle, from La Santa, Famara, Playa blanca, and Old Town PDC.. Here i ate in restaurants very very good, puerto Bahia, Mammacarla are excellent.. In Mamma Carlas the waiters are good guys, very quiet and polite, I have been four times and the food was always good: Best italian restaurant ! High quality food, with a pizza fantastic.Puert Bahia super spanish food , these restaurants are excellent value for money.

If you are looking for a cheap meal then the strip wins hands down but the old town has much nicer restaurants, we had dinner in La Cascade which if you like your meat its fantastic, we also ate in tomatissmo which we found to be very child friendly and the food was delicious, while we were were looking at the menus outside the two restaurants the guy came out from the smaller restuarant next to Tomastissimo and started slagging it off saying it wasnt real italian food, we found this very unproffessional and decided to go into Tomatissimo purely for this, after dinner we were glad we made our choice as we found out after from a taxi guy that "that restuarant uses frozen pizzas". Lovely food and very friendly staff.
