Last week the Canary Islands had nearly 700 immigrants arrive in small boats to different Islands.  People coming over like this has always been a problem for the Canary islands which does not seem to slow down regardless of what the goverement seem to do.

At the moment, children are actually allowed to stay on the island if they arrive while the adults are taken back to there country, it is being proposed that this law should change so that ‘everyone’ is taken back to there home land.

This year alone has seen over 15,000 immigrants try to enter the canary islands mainly from Africa.  It has been asked by many people for the Navy to help patrol the waters to help clamp down on the crossings, not only to help stop people entering the country but also to help save lives.  The crossing although only 60km has known to take many lives.

Not just 10 minutes ago there has been a dramatic rescue at Sea.  It was first noticed by a Sports fishing boat that had let off a flare from the back of the boat just out side the harbour in the Old Town of Puerto Del Carmen.

Its not clear at this moment in time what happened, however there were 3 young males brought into the harbour area and taken off in 2 ambulances and a further person taken by a helicopter to what looks like a different Island.
