When visiting Lanzarote people tend to forget that there is a lot more to our little Islands than the sun, sea, sand and of course the many bars and restaurants.
So what else can Lanzarote off the tourist?
The biggest and no doubt most important attraction in Lanzarote has to be the Timanfaya National Park. The national park is due to the volcanic eruptions between 1730 and 1736. During this time the eruptions with covered most of Lanzarote has created the landscape which you will see when flying over the island.
A trip to the National Park is normally best done by an organized trip, the main reason is there is a lot of history behind the eruptions so having a guide explaining all this to you is always helpful.
You can of course drive up there by yourself and you do get a trip around the national park (it is protected land so you cannot walk / drive around on your own).
Entrance is around 8 Euros, within the area you will find a restaurant, toliets and of course what attraction would be without the gift shop.

Over the past month we have been asked more than once about the road works taking place in Puerto del Carmen.
The road works which started around 2 months ago are effecting the main road in Puerto del Carmen from Playa Pocillos past the San Antonio Hotel. At the moment you can still drive to the San Antonio Hotel but you do have to use some smaller back roads to get there.
The roads which are being dug up at the moment are apart of some larger changes in Puerto del Carmen. The plans for the future is to make the ’strip’ a one way road cutting down the number of cars and making the walk way larger so that there is a cycle lane and a larger foot path.
Just behind Puerto del Carmen there is also a new road in the process of being built, this new road will be for the lane along the strip that gets closed down. This at the moment is not effecting traffic but may do in the near future.

While searching around various web sites about the weather in Lanzarote you notice that the weather always seems the same as the other Canary Islands when the truth is weather around the Canary Islands is different (sometimes by a lot) on each island.
The past few days Lanzarote has been having a mini heat wave which is pushing the temperature way above 35 degrees yet all the web sites offing ‘Lanzarote Weather and Weather Forecasts’ will be showing 35 degrees and under (Yes this includes Lanzarote Tourist Reviews).
So why is this? Well like anywhere Lanzarote does have different temperatures depending on where in the Island you are, for example when you start heading inland you will start climbing up hence it’s normally colder inland than the likes of Puerto del Carmen which is found on the cost.
So when you are searching around for the weather in Lanzarote do remember that all sites can only really offer a guide to the temperatures around Lanzarote, as a rule of thumb we would suggest that you look at the Lanzarote Weather and always add a few degrees to what is being displayed.

Costa Teguise is still a very busy resort in Lanzarote and has a very strong following. As part of our ever growing network of sites we have finally started to open Costa Teguise Reviews. This review site will allow people to leave reviews and comments on the bars, restaurants, hotels and of course apartments.
Similar to Puerto del Carmen Reviews CT Reviews will be a independent review site for everything Costa Teguise. The site which is only just starting to take shape will have many more bars and restaurants added over the coming weeks and packed with all kind of information on the tourist resort of Costa Teguise, keep checking back so when the bar / restaurants you have visited is listed you can leave your own review.

Although many people think of the Canary Islands and think mainly of the top tourists destinations such as Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, a small Island around 2.7 cubic kilometres has gone up for sale.
This small Canary Island can be yours for the small price of 9 million euros. Localted just Noth of Lanzarote this Island is know as Montana Clara. Bought some 50 years ago a sale like this will only come around once in a while.
It’s said there are 2 interested parties in buying this Island, one is a  financial company and another, a Dutch family.
