Being so close to the equator means that temperatures are basically always over 20 degrees, peaking in the summer months at an average of 28 degrees during July and August. However, the Atlantic Ocean provides a useful cooling breeze that is extremely refreshing, especially if you have spent all day on the beach or at the pool-side sunbathing!

Things To Do

Holidays in Lanzarote are perfect for couple and families alike because of the range of activities on offer. You could spend the day sunbathing and strolling carefree along one of the many long sandy beaches that fringe the island. Alternatively you may enjoy turning your hand to a watersport such as windsurfing, diving, jet skiing, bodyboarding or even surfing; they're all available in Lanzarote. If watersports don't tickle your fancy then you could spend some time perfecting your golf swing or pushing your limits go karting.

For the less sporting person there are plenty of things to do. If you fancy some duty free shopping then you could break out your credit card and head into town where you'll find an array of shops offering perfumes to crafts and everything between. You could also take a day trip into the central mountain ranges and enjoy some truly stunning views of the island and ocean. Alternatively you could take a trip into the caves that riddle the island.
