Submarine Safaris

Submarine Safaris is an excursion that is not available most places in the world. The Submarine is a special one which has been changed to allow tourists to venture aboard and experience what it's like 100 feet under the water.

Submarine Safaris is located in Puerto Calero, you will be able to book this trip via your travel rep, local excursion shops or by visiting the main shop in Puerto Calero.

The trip is not very long and does seem quite a lot of money, but seeing as you may never get the chance to do it again, it's worth every penny.

Before getting inside the submarine you will be able to stand outside and have your picture taken with whom ever you are going on this trip with, these pictures will be available to purchase after the tip has finished.

When you are in the submarine it really does not matter where you sit, there are many different port holes so everyone can get a good view of the sea bed, ship wrecks and fish. During the dive you will have a guide on board who will talk about the different fish you may/may not see and the ship wrecks.

When you get to around 10 meters under the water you will notice a diver coming down to join you, the diver will swim around the boat feeding the fish next to ALL the port holes ensuring that everyone has a chance to see the different fish, this is also a good chance to take some pictures.

Once the trip is over you will be taken to a bar in Puerto Calero where you are able to purchase the pictures that were taken at the start of your adventure, you also normally have a small amount of time to wonder around Puerto Calero and look around some of the shops.

On a side note: the feeling when you are under the water is quite odd, be sure that you really want to take part in this trip as once you are in and the submarine is under the water there is no getting off!
