Lanzarote Aquarium
You will find Lanzarote's aquarium in Costa Teguise near the El Trebol apartments. Having paid your entry fee you descend the steps into the cool atmosphere (particularly nice on the hot day we went.)
As you walk the marked path you will come to numerous tanks as expected and all the marine life is what can be found in canarian waters.
What is unexpected is the simulated rock pools where it is possible to touch sea urchins. Another unusual and very effected feature is that some of the tanks have viewpoints that bubble out and are actually magnifying. This enables you to
see tiny sea horses in great detail. There are also some areas where the glass bubbles in, so you actually feel as if your head is in the underwater environment.
A major plus point of the aquarium is that it houses a small tunnel which passes under one of the tanks and enables small sharks to swim over your head - quite an experience.
It is possible to visit the aquarium to see sharks, crabs, sea-horses, sea-urchins amongst other things and of course all manner of fish.
During your visit you will note that at certain intervals there are some seating areas in front of prominent tanks so it is possible to sit awhile and take in the underwater displays.
There are vending machines around the walk to enable you to purchase a drink to enjoy whilst you sit.
The tour ends upstairs in the shop where all manner of fury replicas of what you have seen are waiting to be taken to a good home.
