Costa Teguise is by far the most popular area in which to windsurf.

Early in Costa Teguise is good for beginners or people trying to learn as the winds are normally not as strong. As the day progresses and the wind does pick up a little it's time for the short boarders. There are many smaller beaches which are protected by jetties but beyond these the wind is very strong.

For larger waves you need to visit the area of Jameos del Agua or Famara. Jameos del Agua is one of the toughest surfing areas in lanzarote and is really for the professionals. The waves in this area can break in multiple sections over the volcanic reef located off the shore.

La Santa which is a hot spot for surfers also offers a sheltered lagoon area for beginners.
